A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LGMI CHURCH

I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS:

I WILL COME TO YOU.

JOHN 14:18 KJV

LIVING GOSPEL MINISTRY CHURCH

was formed on April 4th, 1998 as a fellowship on Southern Boulevard in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx in New York City. The fellowship was originated by the inspiration of God. And by the direction of God, Rev. Dr. Augustines Adjepong was able to guide and lead six people who originally constituted the fellowship. The year 1999 witnessed a mighty revelation and a great insight when God released and confirmed the name of the church to Rev. Dr. Augustines Adjepong. The whole ordeal of the revelation was focused on Internationalism and holding forth the Word of LIfe as indicated in Philippians 2:16 of the HOLY BIBLE. And God saith to Rev. Dr. Augustines Adjepong; call my establishment LIVING GOSPEL MINISTRY INTERNATIONAL. Right there and then the church was established and registered in the State of New York as a non-profit organization. Minister Emmanuel Adzomi, a member of the Church Board, was appointed as the Sunday school superintendent. He coordinated the affairs of the Sunday school with such wisdom and understanding from On-High until he finally moved out of state. Mrs. Florence Adjepong was chosen as the interim financial secretary. She did the work of a treasurer with passion, humility and fear of God. She later decided to vacate her position for another assignment. The office of Treasurer was temporarily assigned to Brother Francis Adjepong; now a pastor and Church Board member.

Minister Delali Bansa, a Church Board member, was leading the Praise and Worship team at the time together with Sister Perfect Sitofaey.  In 2003 the church relocated to 1230 Nelson Avenue in the High Bridge section of the Bronx. God added to the congregation and we outgrew the house of worship. In September of 2005 we found another location on 925 East 163RD Street, (Intervale Avenue & 163rd Street) in the Hunts Point Section of the Bronx. However, Minister Delali Bansa had to relocate out of State for family reasons. By the power and the grace of God Rev. Dr. Augustines Adjepong was able to hold forth the Word of Life without hesitation and he gathered many people for the Lord. The enrollment of new members was beyond our imagination. We currently have staunch and dedicated men and women of God working in the vineyard. Among others are Elder Alex Barson Ofori, Deaconess Simoy Bernard, Deaconess Phyllis Baynes Superville, and Sister Jacqueline Smith; to name a few. We, as a church, are determined to relocate again to a bigger sanctuary with convenient amenities. The miraculous God has once again stationed us at 2235 Throop Avenue in the Pelham section of the Bronx. We are blessed with this building which is intended to be developed as a Sanctuary for the Lord.  Come And See!
